
Who’s Nellie?
Nellie is a passionate UX/UI designer with a strong interest in user experience research. While she is comfortable with the entire end-to-end design process, her curiosity and drive are especially rooted in understanding user needs and behaviors. She has completed a comprehensive UX/UI Bootcamp through Springboard, equipping her with the latest tools and methods in human-centered design. She has also spent 20 years shaping communities through public sector work.

Working with London, UK design firm Futuresight, our team of four evaluated Teledyne FLIR’s product portal QA site through useability testing and heuristic analysis. Using the existing design system for reference, recommendations for improvement were presented in high-fidelity mockups.

UX Case study featuring a travel app for those who aren’t sure where they want to go on vacation. An end-to-end design process that includes primary and secondary research, low and high fidelity mockups, prototyping and user testing.

An UX case study applying the five steps in the design process – Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test – to a wayfinding sign project implemented in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The use of personas, competitive research and focus groups ensured the project’s long-term success.

The Motivize fitness app receives UI updates to further user engagement through new posting, messaging and challenge features. Vibrant graphics, progress tracking and accomplishment sharing add to the overall user experience.

City Pups is a dog adoption desktop app, focusing on finding the ideal dog for those that live in urban areas. These users have unique needs, and a proper use of search filters helps address these needs. This UX case study was completed through a five day design sprint.
